EID Souk provides helping hand to women “homepreneurs” amid the Covid-19 pandemic

Kolkata witnessed first of its kind lifestyle and fashion exhibition from 2 nd April to 4 th April 2021. The motto of this exhibition was to empower women financially, so that they don’t have to depend on others and they become contributors in the small scale industry by investing minimal amount and most importantly staying at home.
A panel discussion was held with eminent personalities, who have carved a niche with their talent and hard work at the Ibrah banquet. Activist Saira Shah Halim,  Fashion Designer &  Social Worker Lopamudra  Mandal,  entrepreneur Farah Khan and celebrity motivational speaker Naina More along with moderator Nikhat Junaid were there to discuss the growth of homepreneurs and its impact in society. Covid-19 induced lockdown has repelled all of us to become stable financially and be ready to face unprecedented scenario. Many people have
lost their source of income post nationwide lockdown, which makes the topic even more
relevant now. An alternative option of earring never goes in vain when the amount of
investment is very less.
Motivating women to pursue their long-forgotten dreams and helping them to be financially
stable was never so relevant till remote working became popular and proved to be done
with ease. Proper platform and guidance both are important in such a scenario. A huge
number of women in society would like to work given an appropriate platform. Nikhat’s
Exhibition comes forward here to help them out with the same.
Saira Shah Halim said “I have always been vocal about being financially independent. When women are self-sufficient, they can nurture the next generation in the same way, towards building a progressive society, where equality is celebrated”.

The organizer of the platform Nikhat Junaid added “We are extremely delighted to be able to provide the platform of showcasing work done by talented women. We also believe to take up other initiatives of empowering women and boost the SME industry through their support.”
