From Jai Ho to Ore Grihabasi, Diksha Manjari’s Vasant Utsav was a lively festival with songs and dances. Dance directed by Dona Ganguly, songs of Rabindranath Tagore by Ananda Gupta and artists from Dakshinayan UK.
In the past few years, Diksha Manjari’s Vasant Utsav in the celebration of spring has become a notable event in the city. This year too, there was no lack of splendor. More than five hundred students performed dances. The premises of the Indian Museum were filled with the songs and dances based on songs Vasant and holi of other provinces. The Vasant Utsav was held on March 1, 2026, at the premises of the Indian Museum, under the joint initiative of the Indian Museum, Diksha Manjari, Dakshinayan UK, and Prabha Khaitan Foundation. Various distinguished guests were present. The dance was directed and planned by renowned Odissi dancer Dona Ganguly. Dona Ganguly was accompanied by Raghunath Das. The dance was performed by artist Dona Ganguly and her team “Diksha Manjari”. The festival of colors was celebrated with classical music, Bengali and Hindi folk songs, and Rabindranath’s songs of Basant were performed by artists from Dakshinayan UK. Directed by Ananda Gupta.
For almost 20 years, this Vasant Utsav was organized at the Dona Ganguly ‘s house. For the last few years, the Vasant Utsav has been jointly celebrated with the Indian Museum in this heritage space. Dona Ganguly said, ‘Now there are many students, there is no space at home. Many talented people gather for this event because they like it. The home events have grown up and have come to this place. Students from many schools come here to visit. A workshop was held earlier. Everyone participated with great joy.” Ananda Gupta said, “We have done several productions with Diksha Manjari with our organization before, but this was the first time we came to perform at the Vasant Utsav. I feel very happy to be with so many dances at once, especially Dona Ganguly’s grand initiative.”
