Cyber Security Awareness Rally on National Computer Security Day

Kolkata has witnessed a Cyber Security Awareness Rally jointly organized by Kolkata’s first Cyber Security Start-up “Indian School of Anti Hacking (ISOAH)” and West Bengal Government Cyber Security Centre of Excellence; on the occasion of National Computer Security Day. The rally is supported by and witnessed the presence of officials from NASSCOM, STPI, Sector 5-member association, Sister Nivedita University, etc.

National Computer Security Day is celebrated on November 30 every year to give an alert globally towards cyber safety. To ignite our focus on cyber security which has become of utmost priority due to its usage in all online aspects from banking to basic information saving on an individual as well as organizational level.

 

The rally has been flagged off at SDF Building, Salt Lake, Sector V in the presence of Debashis Sen – ‘Managing Director, WBHIDCO’, Sanjay Das – Jt Secretary (Ministry of IT&E, WB), Manjit Nayak, ‘Director of STPI (Software Technology Park of India)’, Nirupam Chaudhuri – ‘Regional Director NASSCOM’, Payel Mukherjee ‘Actress’ and Sandeep Sengupta – Ethical Hacker. 500 cyber security geeks stirred up passionately with tableau, posters & slogans. Guy Fawkes mask illustrates unity among the participants. The rally has been covered LIVE by drone camera, which is first of its kind in sector 5.

As per NCRB (National Crime Record Bureau) – Crimes in India Statistics (2020 – 2021), a total of 50035 cyber-crimes in 2020 and 52974 cyber-crimes in 2021 have been reported across India (comprising 28 States and 8 Union Territories). 648 counts of ransomware, 55 counts of tampering source documents, 4071 counts of Identity theft, 372 counts of Violations of Privacy, 9257 counts of Publicly transmitting sexual or obscene content, 12383 counts of banking, OTP and ATM frauds and 15 counts of Cyber Terrorisms.

A Cyber Security book “UNMASK the CYBER REALITY” has been published with statements from industry leaders, as well as mentioning cyber security tips and tricks. 500 copies of the book will be distributed among the 500 IT & ITES companies operating in Salt Lake, Sector 5.

Indian School of Anti Hacking (ISOAH) is Kolkata’s first Cyber Security Start-up and one of the few CERT-In empaneled Audit firm from Kolkata, with a group of 30 ethical hackers (CEH, OSCP, OSCE, CISSP, CISA, CHFI, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, GDPR auditor) with individual industry experience of 23+ years. They have trained CID, Kolkata Police, Sales Tax and CRPF personnel, officials from State Forensic Lab; apart from upskilling 8000 students over last 5 years.
