On December 21, 2024, Consul General of Japan in Kolkata, Mr. NAKAGAWA Koichi presented a
Certificate of Conferment to Mr. Choppla Ganesh Rao, in recognizing his great contribution for 35
years to the official residence of the Consul General.
With his long-time great experience Mr. Rao has served almost 15 Consul Generals. His highly
experienced, sensitive, and thoughtful service was clearly reflected to his work. More than three
decades, he has handled thousands of events. With his unique coordination skill and team spirit,
every event was organized in well manner. When working with other nationals, cultural differences,
language barriers, and differences in the way of approaching to solutions, but Mr. Rao has
overcome all the hurdles with his tremendous skill of understanding.
Mr. Rao, served the official resident of the Consulate general of Japan in Kolkata, is the second
generation, as his father Mr. Choppla Pentiyya who served same position. Consul General recognizes that Mr. Rao has played a key role in connecting Indian and Japanese people and has supported the Consul General in promoting bilateral relationship.
