Holiday Inn Kolkata Airport has joined hands with the Responsible Charity, a renowned city-based NGO and undertaken a heartwarming initiative where the lesser privileged children started their Christmas celebrations, with the unveiling of aSustainable Christmas Tree.
The towering “Sustainable Christmas Tree,” standing at eight feet tall, has been meticulously crafted from reclaimed wood as a conscious effort aligned with environmental considerations to address the significant waste generated during festive seasons. Carefully chosen and curated by the dedicated team at Holiday Inn Kolkata Airport, each piece contributes to the creation of the remarkable “Tree of Life” in a truly distinctive manner.
“We have always focused to how we can give back to the society and this year keeping in mind our sustainable development goals we have curated our Christmas tree, with woods that are usually discarded and go to waste. We were sure that the best way to do justice to this initiative would be to celebrate this joyous day and mark the beginning of Christmas by celebrating with children for whom the basic necessities of life are sometimes a challenge”, said Mr Soumyadeep Bhattacharya, Operations Manager, Holiday Inn Kolkata Airport.
This spectacular tree was revealed and illuminated by these children from Responsible Charity, accompanied by esteemed guests of the hoteladding a touch of significance to the occasion.The children serenaded the gathering with a selection of melodious carols, enchanting the audience.
