Braithwaite & Co. Ltd celebrates India’s 77th Independence Day

Braithwaite & Co. Ltd. celebrated 77th Independence Day on 15th August 2023 with pomp and grandeur at their Corporate Office in Kolkata Works Premises at Hide Road, Kolkata. Shri Salim G. Purushothaman, Chairman & Managing Director hoisted the National Flag. On the occasion, addressing the gathering, ShriPurushothaman, CMD said, “In the last few years, the Company has immensely contributed towards Government of India programmes like the ‘Make in India’ initiative & ‘AatmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan”. BCL has associated itself with Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), Military Engineering Services (MES) & Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) for different projects related to National Security &Commitments. He also spoke on the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign.
Shri Kalyan Kumar Coari, Director (Finance), Smt. Leena V., wife of Shri Purushothaman & Smt. Archita Coari, wife of Shri Coari also graced the occasion.
Through the poem of Rabindranath Tagore, ShriCoari, Director (Finance), inspired the employees to always be ready for the service of the Nation. He also emphasized that with the continuous efforts of all the employees, the company’s growth will increase day by day and in this way also we can contribute to build a strong Nation.
Senior Executives, Trade-Union leaders and employees across all levels participated in the Independence Day celebration in large numbers.
Veteran Trade Union leaders Sri Srikant Yadav and Md. Farooque Azam also spoke on the occasion.
Patriotic songs were rendered by the Kolkata Works employees to mark the occasion.
At Angus Works at Bhadreswar, Shri P.K. Sinha, GM (I/C)-AW hoisted the National Flag and addressed the employees.
At the Wagon Repair shop, Vadlapudi, Shri Saroj Kumar Senapati, Chief Project Officer, hoisted the National Flag.
