BJP member Anurag Singh Thakur Addresses Tomorrow’s Leaders at I.I.M.U.N. Kolkata Conference
India’s International Movement to Unite Nations (I.I.M.U.N.), one of the world’s largest youth-run non-profit organisations, today inaugurated the 13th edition of its Kolkata Conference and marked it 15th year anniversary in Kolkata. Member of Lok Sabha and Former Union Minister Shri Anurag Singh Thakur graced the occasion as Chief Guest, delivering the keynote address on the theme of the role of youth in building a Viksit Bharat. He spoke about how this is India’s time in the world now and how Bengali youth must seize the opportunity!
The three-day conference has brought together 500 students from 26 schools across Kolkata, providing a platform for young people to engage in discussions on international, national, and local issues of relevance. Students will participate in structured committees, begin their days with yoga, and examine global challenges through an Indian civilisational lens in the tradition that has defined I.I.M.U.N. for fifteen years.
Addressing the gathering at IEM Public School, Salt Lake, Shri Thakur emphasised the importance of India’s young citizens in shaping the nation’s future through innovation, responsibility, and active participation in governance. During a time where most politicians are focused on a voting population, his presence at I.I.M.U.N. Kolkata reflects a natural alignment, a leader who has built his career on youth empowerment, speaking to an organisation that has spent fifteen years doing exactly that.
Other eminent luminaries present at the occasion included Air Chief Marshal (retd) Arup Raha and 20 year old Senior Director of I.I.M.U.N., Amber Fatima, a 20- year old Kashmiri girl whose idea of India impressed all that were present.
