Birla Corporation Limited receives Commendation for Significant Achievement in Corporate Excellence
Birla Corporation Limited, flagship Company of the MP Birla Group, has received the Commendation for Significant Achievement in Corporate Excellence in the 17th CII-ITC Sustainability Awards for 2022, instituted by CII. The award was presented by Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways, in New Delhi on 10 May 2023.
Shri Sandip Ghose, Managing Director & CEO, Birla Corporation Limited, said: “This award has demonstrated the Company’s comprehensive approach on the journey towards Excellence in Sustainable Business. Building strong sustainable credentials is essential for long-term existence of planet earth. Therefore, the industry has embedded all the potential sustainable dimensions into corporate strategy and business process & practices”.
Shri Devesh Kumar Mishra, Unit Head, Chanderia Cement Works, and Shri Debashish Choudhury, Vice President, Corporate Affairs, received the award.
The award recognizes the Company’s Significant Achievement in Corporate Excellence in Manufacturing Sector for Commendable Results from Deployment of Policy & Processes on the journey to Excellence in Sustainable Business. Jury members noted the Company’s continual efforts in the areas of Emission, CSR, Safety, AFR utilization, Energy & Water Conservation and Biodiversity Development, among others.
