Basketball Players wear face masks to counter Coronavirus

Players wore protective  masks during the 39th Senior State Basketball Championship in an attempt to counter the effects of the deadly coronavirus.

“Concerned about the health of our players and that of our opponents, we went onto the pitch with protective masks.” said the officials.

39th Senior State Basketball Championship is organized by West Bengal Basketball Association. The Players who have represented India at international levels is playing in this championship. Some of them are Madhu Kumari (Basketball Player Achiever of Banglar Gaurav Award by Govt. of WB), Syed Anam Ali (Gold Medalist at International Championships). Anjana Daisy Ekka ( Player Fiba Asia Cup, Malaysia). Vimmy Varkey (AB Championship, Srilanka). Besides, the Kolkata Police Women wings is also participating.  Dignitaries who were present at the inauguration were Goutam Ganguly (Gen. Secretary WB Basketball Association), Babun Banerjee (Jt. Secretary Bengal Olympic Association).
