ASSOCHAM marks teachers day with 1000 “Preschool Shikshak Samman“ and National Oath taking ceremony among Earlychild Education Providers

Celebrating Teachers day, ASSOCHAM along with Nalanda Learning and Rotary Club of Calcutta Centenary organised “Preschool ShikshakSamman” to honour preschool teachers who have contributed towards early child learning. About 1000 teachers across various geographies of India engaging in early child education across cities and towns were provided with the Samman, thanking them for their contribution to the society.
For the first time ever an All India oath taking ceremony among preschool teachers was organised to respect the teaching profession and commit towards quality holistic education among forming years of a child.
On the occasion, mountaineer PiyaliBasak was felicitated for her amazing achievement in achieving one the rarest feat in human history by summiting Mount Everest without oxygen. She is also a primary school teacher from West Bengal and has uplifted the lives of many young girls by inspiring them with her amazing feat.
ASSOCHAM National Task Force Chairman, Mr Tamal Mukherjee said the role of a teacher is immense to encourage a child’s genius and enhance thinking and learning skills. He thanked Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri. NarendraModi and Education Minister Shri. Dharmendra Pradhan for introducing NEP2020 which has given a future road map to ECCE eco system in the country. Inviting schools all across the country to collaborate towards the national mission of creating a strong foundation for early childhood education, he said, ECCE offers great opportunity for entrepreneurs and serves as a job creator at the grass root level.
Mr.Tamal Mukherjee who is also the founder and director of Nalanda Learning, launched the NL Edu Health App which is a great tool for parents and educators to measure the developmental milestones of children between the age group of 03-06 years.
He remarked on how Nalanda Learning has been working on the early childhood education domain since 2012, initially through its flagship brand Little Laureates and now as a complete solution provider delivering a NEP 2020 recommended curriculum backed by technology, training, and expert advice to pre-primary schools across India.
He further mentioned how Nalanda Learning is helping schools deliver high quality education with their ground-breakingwork on pedagogy, physical as well as digital content, integrated worksheets including an extensive teacher training program along with parent/teacher mobile apps with learning management system for better delivery, management and monitoring of the teaching learning process with the use of technology.
In her opening remark, Mrs Perminder Kaur Senior Director and National Coordinator for ECE Task force said, opportunity to learn and grow is important for overall development of a human being. Creating an environment that nurture, stimulates a child is important. She said ASSOCHAM’s national initiative of “Pehle Preschool”, was started about 3 years back to ensure holistic development of a child. The ongoing program is to ensure valued participation of all key stakeholders and support women empowerment as the sector has high level of women participation.
In the event, PDG Rtn. Mukul Sinha, of the District Literacy Chair, Rotary Club of Calcutta Centenary, Mrs.Roshni Aditya – Managing Director, Aditya Group and Mrs.Geetanjali Mukherjee, Founder –Gleanburnie Group of Schools were also felicitated.
