Asian UBE Meet 2025 draws experts from across Asia to discuss latest advancements in UBE

Unilateral Biportal Endoscopic (UBE) Spine Surgery has emerged as a popular minimally invasive technique for addressing various spinal conditions. It combines elements of percutaneous endoscopic spinal surgery, which employs endoscopic tools, and microscopic spinal surgery, which utilizes a floating technique.

Compared to traditional spine surgeries, UBE offers several advantages, including reduced tissue damage, minimal blood loss, shorter hospital stays, and quicker recovery times. Patients typically experience less postoperative pain, require fewer analgesics, and can return to their normal activities sooner.

Recently, Asian UBE Meet 2025 organized by the Institute of Neurosciences Kolkata (I-NK) was held in the city. Leading spine surgeons and medical professionals from across Asia attended this event to discuss the latest advancements in Unilateral Biportal Endoscopic (UBE) Spine Surgery. Renowned endoscopic spine surgeons from South Korea, Dubai, Malaysia, Vietnam, China, Portugal, and various regions of India participated as faculty members in this meeting.

Under the leadership of Organizing Chairman Dr. Christopher Gerber and Organizing Secretary Dr. Anindya Basu, the event included lectures, cadaveric hands-on workshops at NRS Medical College supervised by Prof. Kiran Kumar Mukhopadhyay, expert panel discussions, and interactive clinical sessions. This comprehensive program aims to provide participants with a well-rounded educational and training experience.
