Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Kolkata today introduced a health check programme that uses Artificial Intelligence and draws on a colossal repository of medical records to predict health risks from non-communicable diseases in a simple score sheet and pledges to bring the threat down to the threshold of safety.
It also provides each patient with a personal health mentor to guide them through the process of investigations and remind them of the scheduled consultations and repeat tests to monitor the diminishing risk factors.
The check-up programme, christened Apollo ProHealth, was formally launched today at Kolkata by Mr. Rana Dasgupta, CEO, AGHL along with Mr. Somnath Bhattacharya, VP, Business Administration, AGHL and Dr. Jhuma Bagchi, Assistant Medical Superintendent, AGHL, who drives Apollo ProHealth at the hospital.
ProHealth is a first of its kind, comprehensive health program, powered by pHRA (personalised Health Risk Assessment), enabled by Artificial Intelligence. A powerful, proactive Health Management program, it has been curated and conceptualised by Apollo’s experts and innovators in preventive healthcare riding on the experience and learning from over 20 million health checks conducted by the various units of the Apollo Hospitals Group.
ProHealth empowers individuals and businesses with actionable health analytics, to know and eradicate health risks, leading to happier lives. The programme brings technology and human elements together by providing a personal Health Mentor to guide each individual to stay focused on the health track and gain better health and lasting happiness.
“Apollo Pro Health is basically a war against “non-communicable diseases” which threatens the humanity like a Tsunami. We are going to start a 3 year continuous health program with the mission to predict, prevent and overcome NCDs,” said AGHL assistant medical superintendent Dr. Jhuma Bagchi, who is also a Apollo Health Check physician.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rana Dasgupta, CEO, Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, said: “Non-communicable diseases like cancer, diabetes, strokes, obesity are affecting more and more people. This is not only a deterrent both to individual well-being but also has a crippling effect on our aggressive economy to fit into which citizens need to be healthy. Through the launch of Apollo ProHealth, Apollo Hospitals Group as a true healer pledges to help people take certain steps now so that it is not necessary to heal them later.”
“About 80 per cent of NCD-mortality is preventable. The WHO has emphasised that chronic lifestyle ailments are best managed via preventive measures. Apollo ProHealth will do just that; prevent these preventable deaths,” he added.
Apollo Hospitals Group had introduced the country first ‘Personalized Preventive Health Check’ over four decades ago. ProHealth, being launched now, is the world’s most powerful preventive health management programme and redefines the newer dimensions of healthcare today.
According to Mr. Somnath Bhattacharya, VP (Business Development), AGHL: “ProHealth stands on the three pillars of Predict, Prevent and Overcome. This will ensure tangible, measurable changes in the lives of people.”
