The Institute of Neurosciences Kolkata (I-NK) is hosted Annual Congress of The Neuromodulation Society (TNS) 2025, the Indian chapter of the International Neuromodulation Society (INS. The three-day academic meet has drawn leading neuroscientists, physicians, neurologists, and neurosurgeons from India and abroad.
A major highlight of this year’s congress is the inauguration of the INK–Neuromodulation Centre of Excellence, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the region. The Centre is expected to transform care and quality of life for patients with Parkinson’s disease, stroke, headache, chronic pain, and other complex neurological conditions by integrating cutting-edge research, advanced clinical practice, and training. This will bring together neurologists, neuro surgeons, psychiatrists and other clinicians.
The congress began with a pre-conference workshop on September 5, followed by plenary sessions on September 6 and 7. More than 300 delegates—ranging from neurologists and neurosurgeons to psychiatrists, researchers, and students—are taking part in discussions on the latest advances in neuromodulation, neurosurgery, pain management, and neuropsychiatry.
This annual event will bring together a multidisciplinary community of clinicians, researchers, and innovators for rich discussions, academic exchange, and hands-on learning. The Congress will feature cutting-edge developments not only in neuromodulation, but also across the broader landscape of brain and nervous system disorders—ranging from movement disorders and chronic pain to psychiatric conditions and functional neurosurgery.
The meeting is being attended by eminent national and international dignitaries. Prof. Dr. Robin Sengupta, OBE serves as Patron of Honour, while Prof. Dr. Paresh Doshi, President of TNS, and Dr. Preeti Doshi, Secretary of TNS, are leading the proceedings. Prof. Dr. Hrishikesh Kumar, Vice Chairman of I-NK, is playing a central role in organizing the event. Renowned global experts such as Prof. Hagai Bergman, Prof. Mark Baker, Prof. Stuart Baker, and Prof. Arjune Sen are delivering keynote lectures.
Organizers said the congress and the new Centre of Excellence would place Kolkata at the forefront of neuromodulation research and clinical care, offering new hope to patients across India and beyond.
