In an attempt to demonstrate linkage of ancient Indian wisdom to modern day medical research and arrive at a holistic confluence of wellness and healthy lifestyle, the first ever Conclave on Wellness & Longevity SOHAM 2020 was organised by Sree Satyananda Mahapeeth in collaboration with West Bengal Council of Yoga and Naturopathy and Paschim Banga Ayurved Parisad.
Two day long International symposium on Yoga, Ayurveda and other streams of AYUSH, SOHAM 2020 was inaugurated by Sanghajanani, Sanyasini Sree Archana Puri Maa in the august presence stalwarts in the streams of AYUSH including Dr. Tushar Sil, President, Council of Yoga & Naturopathy, WB, Dr.P.K.Singha Roy, President, Paschimbanga Ayurveda Parisad, WB, Dr. Ajeet Saxena, Former Civil Servant, Govt. of India, Prof. Dr. Bimal Chandra Mal – Vice chancellor, JIS University and many other dignitaries.
On the first day of SOHAM 2020, Swami Kritapadananda, Registrar, Ramkrishna Mission Vivekananda University , Dr. Konstantine Pavlidis, International Speaker on Spiritual Science, Scientist & Meta physicist, London, UK, Yogacharya Dr. Chanchal Roy, Hariharananda Kriyayog Dhyan Kendra, Kolkata, Mr. Sharad D Bhalekar,Principal, Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute & Research Centre, Pune , Dr. Samiran Mondal, HOD- DYAS, Viswa-Bharati University delivered their valuable talks on Yoga in daily life and its relevance in the contemporary modern world, New Paradigm of Human evolution – By Quantum Integrative Yoga, Meditation through Kriya yoga, Yoga for wellness and Historical Development of Yoga Culture in Bengal.
Dr. Hemant Bhargav- Senior Scientific Officer, NIMHANS, Bangaluru, shared the Research updates of Yoga in NIMHANS (National Institution of Mental Health and Neurosciences), one of the great institution for medical science of India.
Today’s programme concluded with a dance performance by renowned classical dancer Smt. Anusuya Ghosh Banerjee and Veena recital by Dr. Piyal Bhattacharya – Director, Chidakashkalalay, Kolkata, demonstrating the connection of Nritya Yoga and Naad Yoga with holistic wellbeing of human body and mind.
