An Evening with Tagore

Central Howrah Utsav a govt registered cultural organisation arranged cultural event tilted – Barane Smarane Tumi to pay tribute to the Noble laureate litterateur and poet Rabindranath Tagore, on his 78th death anniversary at the ICCR Kolkata. It was their foundation day celebration and a variety of cultural programmes were organised to mark the occasion.The event featured performances on Tagore’s popular poems and songs- as well as dance recitals. Cultural section of the organisation performed Chirpathero Sangee which kept everyone enthralled. Trivangi dance troup’s performance Shyama choreographed and directed by Saikat Samanta mesmerized the audience with his rendition. Nabo Sangeet Bharati presented a chorus devotion Hey Alor Kobi directed by Joydeep Chakraborty was held to the delight of the audience.
The highlight of the event was felicitation of various distinguished personalities from different sectors of the society along with their inspirational people in their journey
Rajib Chandra, the moving force behind the whole event said “Tagore is immortal through his unparallel literary works and philosophy of the humankind.”
