The Institute of Cost Accountants of India is a Professional body functioning under the administrative control of Ministry of Corporate Affairs. It operates through four Regional Councils and 108 Chapters, spread across the Country with 10 overseas centers. The Institute has around 85,000 members known for their acumen in marshalling the resources towards maximization of productivity and around 5,00,000 students pursuing the CMA Course.
The Institute of Cost Accountants of India has constituted an Agriculture Task Force for the purpose of evolving ways and means of augmenting the farmers income. The Institute looks forward in extending support to the Government initiatives by way of preparing concept papers on Agricultural Costing & Pricing, conducting awareness programs and discussion sessions on pan India basis to come out with advisory on the steps to be taken in order to achieve the objectives set by the Government in this regard and extending support to the farmers.
As a first step towards the objective, the Institute is observing 23rd December 2020 as “National Farmers Day” and Agriculture meets are being organized by several chapters of the Institute.
The Institute (from Headquarters level) is organizing a ‘National Agriculture Meet’ through virtual platform on 23rd December 2020 from 6:00 pm onwards. Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister for Road Transport & Highways and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest and address on the “National Agriculture Meet” to be held virtually on 23rd December 2020.
Institute is organizing a National Conference on the theme “Sustainable Agriculture for Atmanirbhar Bharat” to observe ‘National Farmers’ Day’ on 23rd December, 2020 (Wednesday) from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at Jamshedpur.
In this context, the Institute has also come out with a Concept Paper on Agriculture “Augmenting the Farmers’ Income: Road Map for CMAs” and CMA Agri Bulletin (Inaugural Issue).
