A New Era of Innovation: Adamas University to Establish Bengal’s First Atal Innovation Centre

In a major boost to West Bengal’s innovation ecosystem, Adamas University has been selected to host the state’s first Atal Community Innovation Centre (ACIC) through the Adamas Innovation and Incubation Foundation (AIIF). The announcement was made at the Adamas Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conclave 2026 (AIEC-2026), organised by the BIRAC-supported E-YUVA Centre. The conclave brought together over 150 students, researchers, start-up founders, faculty members and innovators from more than 20 institutions across Eastern India. Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration among academia, government, incubators and industry to accelerate innovation-led growth in the region.
A key highlight was the onboarding of selected E-YUVA teams under BIRAC’s Third National Call. The teams will receive funding, mentoring, entrepreneurial training and innovation support through the E-YUVA Centre. The event also featured start-up pitching sessions and a panel discussion on building innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems in higher educational institutions. Participating institutions agreed to work towards forming a Consortium of Academic Institutions for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development to promote knowledge sharing, mentorship and incubation partnerships.
The newly announced ACIC-AIIF will support grassroots innovators, student entrepreneurs and start-ups through incubation, capacity building, technology validation and market linkages, strengthening Eastern India’s growing innovation landscape.
