Both of them have won the National Awards and have directed two short films with Aurora before. Both films are internationally acclaimed. Prominent director Gautam Ghosh released the poster and teaser of the film at Kolkata Press Club on Wednesday.
Kalkokkho is a cinematic experience of a time loop. The film explores the texture of time with a blend of magic realism and existential horror to express the sense of dread and temporal stasis generated globally by the Pandemic. Through mythological allegory and spiritual subtext, it explores eternal themes like reality and illusion, instinct and morality, love, loneliness and grief, the power of stories, nature of the feminine and the masculine, and the discriminations of ‘I’, ‘you’ and ‘they’ that has fragmented the world we live in to tell a tale of “longing for belongingness” which is the biggest crisis of human existence now and forever!
The main actors of the film, including actress Srilekha Mukherjee, Janardhan Ghosh, Tannistha Biswas mentioned various incidents related to the film. Gautam Ghosh thanked the Aurora Film Corporation for coming forward to make pictures in this time of crisis. The captain of Aurora Anjan Bose said his new studio is nearing completion. He still believes that in the age of OTT, a new feature film will show the country a new path.
