8th NATIONAL CHESSBOXING CHAMPIONSHIP 2019 showcases the sport’s gaining popularity

Chessboxing Association of Bengal hosted the 8th NATIONAL CHESSBOXING CHAMPIONSHIP 2019 in Sub-Junior, Junior & Senior, Men and Women at Khudiram Anushilan Kendra, Kolkata

500 participants from all over the country took part in 66 Weight division & 244 Medals for the winners. Beginning age of the competitor is 7 years and maximum 40 years.This is also selection of team India for World Championship for Chess Boxing

Winners-West Bengal Team with 6 gold ,11silver,2Bronze

1st Runners -up-Tamil Nadu with 13 gold and 5 bronze

2nd Runner -up-Maharastra 6 gold and 1bronze

In a chessboxing fight two opponents play in alternating rounds of chess and boxing. The contest starts with a round of chess, followed by a boxing round, followed by another round of chess and so on.

a contest consists of 11 rounds, 6 rounds of chess and 5 round of boxing. A round of chess takes 4 minutes. Each competitor has 12 minutes on the chess timer.

A round of boxing takes 3 minutes between the rounds there is a 1 minute pause,

during which competitors change their gear. The contest is decided by: checkmate

 (chess round), exceeding the time limit (chess round), retirement of an opponent

(chess or boxing round), KO (boxing round), or referee decision (boxing round).

If the chess game ends in a settlement, the opponent with the higher score in boxing wins.

If there is an equal score the opponent with the black pieces wins.

The First Chessboxing club of India and Training begins at Kolkata in the year of 2011, the founder of chess Boxing Club of Kolkata, Mr. Montu Das was contacted to first time to WCBO about chessboxing for India through chess Boxing Club of Kolkata and later to all of your State/UT/Units through WCBO Affiliation.

Mr. Das known as one of the renounced martial artist in his city since last 30 years in Kickboxing,Karate & Wushu-Kung-Fu and he was also guided by his martial art coach to maintain concentration in martial art you must do practice or play chess for the betterment of mental development after fight or heavy practice.

CHESS BOXING ORGANISATION OF INDIA (CBOI) founded under the leadership of renewed martial artist of India sole Shihan Montu Das, a pioneer of Kickboxer as International Silver Medalist, Referee (WAKO) & Coach, elected as the secretary General, Indian Association of Kickboxing Secretary, Kickboxing Association of West Bengal.
