3 convicts who are on parole feted for their skillful work

Rakshak Foundation organized a felicitation program for three of its key workers, Mahidul Mollah, Maklechur Rahman Mondal and Indrajit Pal who were on parole for the last one and a half years due to the contagious covid 19. Mr. Raj Jahori, Mr. Suraj Chandra and Ms. Chaitali Das felicitated them. The Hon’ble Supreme Court has granted unprecedented parole to many convicts during the Covid situation. The convicts have served life imprisonment and have been working with the Rakshak Foundation since 2016 at the Dum Dum Central Correctional Facility. The covid situation has now improved and it is time for them to go back to jail.
Mrs. Chaitali Das of Rakshak Foundation said, “I learned about their parole and the plight of their families due to poverty and helplessness. My foundation has provided them with jobs and support. At present these prisoners are recognized and respected as artisans through various jute training programs at various levels. They have become highly skilled and responsible artisans who have been providing export orders shoulder to shoulder. Over the years, they have mastered the art of making environmentally friendly jute products. They deserve credit for the successful production of the final product of the pilot project of woolen jute. “
